Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity, formed in 1990, has a goal of eliminating poverty housing throughout the Lakes Area. The program serves low-income families with affordable home ownership. The efforts of the family are supported by donations of community resources of time, talent, materials and money. This is a hands-up, not a hand-out, self-help program intended to improve family lives and community livelihood.

LAHFH serves all of Crow Wing, Cass & Hubbard Counties. A house was completed in Akeley in 2009. Goals for 2010 including building homes in Merrifield, Brainerd, Pine River, Pequot Lakes and acquiring land for another build in Akeley.

There is no gift of time, talent, material or money too big or too small. We ask for your help in whatever way you are able. We especially invite you to pray for the Habitat mission.
