Music Ministry |
Music is one of the greatest gifts given to us by God. Some have been given the gift to make music, others the gift of musical appreciation. Music brings about an emotional, powerful and more meaningful worship experience. So clap with the children, sing with the choir, revel in the organ, hum with the Fret Nots and other instrumentalists, and tap your foot to the Brass! Children's Rhythm ChoirAll children are invited to participate in rhythm choir. The kids have a great time playing various percussion instruments, and they greatly enhance worship by adding to upbeat songs. Brass ChoirFirst Lutheran has a five piece brass choir, which consists of two trumpets, a french horn, a trombone, and a baritone. The brass choir rehearses weekly and works on a variety of musical pieces. The players vary greatly in experience but they always find musical pieces that are comfortable for everyone. Rehearsals are very relaxed and the schedule is flexible. The brass choir is always looking for new brass players, so dust off that old horn and come join the fun! Adult Choir First Lutheran's adult choir is open to everyone who likes to sing. The choir is a very casual group, and rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:45 during the summer and then at 9:15 thereafter. First Lutheran Choir welcomes everyone who wants to join for singing, fun, and fellowship. HCLP ChoirThe Heartland Lutheran Parish Choir sings the third Sunday of the month. Practice is on the Wednesday before at Bethany Lutheran of Nevis at 6:30. All are welcome. Heartland Worship BandThis band consists of four musicians on guitar, piano and drums. They supply the music for the service on the third Sunday of the month. Special MusicFirst Lutheran has many talented musicians who are willing to share their gifts. Special Music is a living example of stewardship, as people give of their talents. Many worship services have been blessed with a variety of special music including vocal solos and duets, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, french horn solos, and guitar music. |
