The Food Shelf is an important local ministry that is supported by our church with financial and volunteer support.

It is located next to the post office on Broadway Street in Akeley.

Its mission is to offer supplementary nutrition to those in need in our service area through an efficient system of collection and distribution of food—striving to preserve the dignity of clients and allowing no discrimination.

Volunteers assist in registering clients, help unload the monthly delivery truck from the Food Bank, and restock the shelves weekly.

The Akeley/Nevis Food Shelf is open for service every Tuesday morning from 9 to 11.

A new addition to the food shelf is the Thrift shop. The Thrift Shop is located in the same building as the food shelf and is open on Tues. 11-4, Fri. 10-4, Sat. 10-4.
